Is it possible?

One of the desires, dreams I have for the Long Beach Project is that we will plant spiritual communities, churches all over Long Beach in a short amount of time next summer. That brings up a real good question. Can students from out of town, all over the country plant churches in 10 short weeks?

Answer: I'm not sure, but why not try. Why not see what a few men and women can do with a vision, training, purpose, time to be with the not-yet-Christians and the power of the Spirit in a city filled with people ready to come and know God?

I've got to believe that there are 100's of men and women already living in natural community, searching, longing, desiring for something more. I've got to believe that if the love and mercy of Jesus showed up in a real person on a regular basis next summer that people are going to be drawn to knowing God. I've got to believe that the Spirit has already prepared 100's of people to come to know Him next summer and they in turn will reach these natural communities.

That's where we are. The power of the Spirit, able hearts, and a clear harvest field. Now we pray and wait.

Begin to pray

Yes, I know we're over 7 months away from launching the Long Beach Summer Project, but I'm already burdened to pray. I believe that any significant movement of the Spirit will be birthed by prayer, prayer for us to listen, be obedient, prayer for open doors, prayer for softened hearts and a willingness to see God move like we have never seen before.

If there is anything you do as you read this, just pray that God will be the center of this project. That we, our plans, our dreams, our strategies and our lives will be a response of who He is and what He does.

That is what we want this coming summer to be about; God moving supernaturally in our hearts and in the lives of the not-yet-Christians in Long Beach.

Housing in Long Beach

Here are a few shots of the housing we'll be staying at next summer. It is on the corner of Cherry and Ocean Blvd. You've got to check out google earth to see a real satalite picture of the area. 2010 E. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA.
