Info has been sent

Today is the day, if you have been accepted to the project, that you received an e-packet of information, tools, and resources regarding the summer project. We're excited to have you.

I want to encourage you to read through the entire packet over the next few days and start working through it.

I also would like you to join the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LBProject2006/ by sending an email to: LBProject2006-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. I believe by doing that you can join the email list and be part of the web site. I have posted the same packet on that site.

Let us know if you have any questions. We'll be sending out within the next few weeks an email with the current roster. We're still praying for a couple more gals and about 7 guys. Join us in praying that God will make Himself clear to us now and throughout the summer.

Our Fears will Kill Us.

Okay, our fears won't necessarily kill us but they will keep us from doing many things that we know are awesome, great and also from God. I was reading and an excellent book (highlighted in the right column: The Insiders) last night and the authors talked about fear. Fear is the root of many comments and questions that we have. For example: I"m not comfortable among non-believers. I don't know enough to do anything like that. Where would I find the time? I'm not that qualified. I don't have it together myself in order to do that. Who am I to be connecting with others when I need so much help my self. Maybe you have your own list of questions about support, leaving home, sharing your faith, meeting new people and getting a job that are really pointing to a deeper heart of fear.

How do you move from Fear to Faith?
  1. Be Transparent about your Fears. Read I Corinth 2:1-5
  2. Ask God for the words you will need. Read Eph 6:19-20
  3. Accept your Fear as an opportunity. Read 2 Corinth 12:10

There will be many things starting now and continuing through the rest of our lives that will cause us to fear. Let's bring them to God and see what the power, love and grace of God can do in our lives.

"I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death."
Php 1:20

Hey, where are you guys?

So you're wondering where the Long Beach Leadership is. We're here, working on the summer, accepting you all and getting together (as we write) a packet of info to be sent out to you if you have been accepted. It will be in your email box this week. I'm sure you all have tons of questions and we'll do our best to answer them.

I'm excited for what God has in store for us. Be praying.
Pray for about 5-7 more guys to apply. Ask your friends, point them our direction and pray.
Praise God we got the final two rooms we need to actually let you guys sleep this summer.
Pray for all of our support to be raised in the next 3 months.
Pray that God will point us in the right direction to be part of planting spiritual movements in LB.
Pray that God will unite us in Spirit and mission.
Pray that God will be our Lord and Savior daily. This summer is all about Him.
Pray for protection from the evil one. You're on his hit list and God will be our source of life and protection.

Talk to you all soon.
